Ok, I’m a schmuck for romance. I absolutely adore Rhett Butler both in the classic Gone With The Wind book and the movie starring Clark Gable. Rhett is the bad boy every woman dreams about, but he’s also tender underneath all that swagger. His good looks, bravado and devil-may-care attitude are enough to make any woman swoon. Gable got the character perfectly in the movie. Here’s a funny story from my childhood – Gone With The Wind (the movie) came to our town in the 1950’s. I was in the seventh grade and begged and begged to be allowed to go to see it. My father said it was “filth” and too mature for a girl my age. I’d already read the book, but of course, I didn’t tell him that. It was only when I was much older and married that I was finally able to see the movie and I enjoyed it all the more because I had to wait!
Who’s your favorite male character? Let me know in the comments section.
